topics, goals and activities

The NGO Retrovizor was founded in 2024 in Zagreb. The name of the association was chosen as a symbol that embodies the idea that brought us together. A rear-view mirror is an object that allows us to look backwards, but it is also an object that allows us to follow other vehicles in motion. The dual function of the rear-view mirror reflects two thematic areas in our scope. On the one hand, we focus on processes and events in the 20th century that influenced the formation of contemporary Croatian and European society, as well as the representation of the past in the culture of memory. On the other hand, we analyse contemporary Croatian society in a comparative perspective, that is, in a broader regional and European context.
